1. Information we collect
Information you add
Eclectic may store the content you choose to create in the app, such as tasks, goals, events, relationship notes, grocery items, food lists, quotes, reflections and greeting-card designs. This information is only stored locally on your device and not shared outside of the device.
Device permissions
Some optional features require device permissions:
- Camera: used only when you choose to capture an image for quote OCR. Images and recognised text are processed on your device.
- Photos or media: used only when you choose to select or save images for greeting cards or quote capture.
- Notifications: used only when you enable reminders for goals, reflections or other app activity.
You can deny or later revoke these permissions in your device settings. The app remains usable without them, although related features may not work.
Weather and location information
To show local weather and rainfall, you may provide a location such as a postal code or area. Eclectic does not require continuous device location access nor does it need your actual location. We do not use this information to identify you. Weather requests may be sent to the relevant public weather-data provider to retrieve readings. This is done without using the location information you provided.
2. How we use information
We use information to provide the features you request, save your preferences, display reminders you enable, and improve the reliability of the app. Optional on-device AI features, such as quote category suggestions, run on your device when supported. Your personal content is not sent to any remote AI service.
Eclectic does not use your personal content for advertising, profiling, or personalised advertising.
4. Your choices and data deletion
You can review, edit or delete content from within Eclectic. You can disable notifications and permissions through your device settings. You can remove all locally stored app data by using the app’s data-management controls, or by uninstalling the app. Uninstalling may not remove files you explicitly exported or saved outside the app.
Because we do not maintain an account-based copy of your local content, we generally cannot recover content deleted from your device. Please export anything you want to keep before deleting it.
5. Security and retention
We use the storage and security controls provided by your operating system. Local content remains on your device until you delete it, clear the app’s data, or uninstall the app. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so please keep your device and operating system up to date.
6. Children’s privacy
Eclectic is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app or applicable requirements change. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the “Last updated” date. Your continued use of Eclectic after an update means the updated policy applies to your use of the app.
